Purpose Driven Life, Day 22

Day 22: Created to Become like Christ – Our destiny is to be like Christ, we were created in God’s image, to have his characteristics and traits in the same way that we are like our earthly parents. Day 22 talks about the different ways that God works within us to make us more like Christ, helping to build our character to be more like him. To love other the way he does. We are here on earth to strengthen out character for heaven and that includes going through difficult circumstances, characters aren’t made in the space of comfort.

The Holy Spirit helps to produce Christlike characters in us, in order to become more like Christ we go through a process called sanctification. It’s important that we cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work, when you step out in faith the Holy Spirit’s power is released in your life. It’s even more important that we step out in times of weakness, that shows that we trust God and the Holy Spirit to be in our corner.

God uses people, his Word, and circumstances to mold us, we can’t grow if we’re not challenged to grow. Circumstances are going to come into our lives that test us and make us experience different situations that we learn and grow from.

Becoming like Christ is a long, slow process of growth, like a child that grows to adulthood, so his out growth in Christ. We start out as children and as we experience different situations we learn to trust more, we learn positive characteristics that are Christlike.

Question of the Day is: In what are of my life do I need to ask for the Spirit’s power to be like Christ today?

One of the things that I need to work on my fear…my fear of stepping out on faith and allowing God to open doors for me. There are so many things that I wanted to do but didn’t because I was scared to move.

Learning to live in the moment,
